Fund raising concert for Romsey Young Carers

"Well done. I thought I'd just drop you a line to say how much we enjoyed the evening.  It was very entertaining, relaxing with the banter and so good to hear so many of Barry's superb songs. Brings back memories of the old Obelisk days (original venue of Woolston Folk Club)". (Barbara and Peter Bartholemew)

"Thank you all so much for such a great evening!  All the comments I received on the way out were positive - everyone said how much they enjoyed the evening.  There was a lovely variety of songs and styles; the sound and balance were perfect; and the little chats introducing the songs were just right.

Thanks to you all the evening went perfectly!

With best wishes, and hope to see you again before too long". (David Brindley)

Fund raising concert for St.James Road Methodist Church

"Please pass on the gratitude of the SJR Fundraising Team to the band for your generosity in donating your full share of the donations to Connect. It will take us some time to clear the remainder of the debt so we will be busy for a while yet. If the other concerts this year go as well as yesterday, we will be delighted. Lots of church folk this morning told me how much they enjoyed your songs". (Rae Kibble)

And a reminder of some wonderful times....

April 2013 saw the tenth and last performance of the stage show "LOOK OUT! Southampton's Titanic Story in Song".

The show, performed by White Star Line Up, played to capacity audiences and received excellent reviews, as did the double album. The ensemble comprised eight, sometimes nine musicians and singers, including Ann, Ali, Barry and Mary and two narrators. What a privilege and a joy that was!

venue: The Hub Theatre, City College, Chapel Road, Southampton

The preview performance of LOOK OUT! (Southampton's Titanic story in song).

......."Just had to rush home and write to you all to say ‘well done, it was ****** fantastic’!!! Best thing I’ve seen in ages! ........

The songs were marvellous and so very powerful; poignant lyrics and wonderful melodies, and shivers went down my spine so many times. Put together as a song suite, ‘the whole’ was simply superb, telling a very sad story in a most moving manner. I learnt things I hadn’t known before.....It was well researched,  sensitively handled, and incredibly emotive. It’s a long time since a performance brought me to tears as this one did". (Sandy Satyanadhan)

venue: St. Michael's Church, Southampton, 17th April 2010

The centenary performance of LOOK OUT! (Southampton's Titanic story in song).

.... "one of the best live performances I've ever seen. And I've seen some good ones. Congrats to all the performers, and to your sound man - the sound was awesome where I was sitting, the vocals sounded wonderfully smooth together. I've just finished listening to the CD. The last two songs are almost unbearable. Wonderful stuff". (George Benn)
